A quiet but meaningful update: Leica reworked the 28mm Summicron's optical formula to hold up on 60-megapixel sensors, improved close-focus, and standardized the modern hood design. The 28mm focal length is the signature "documentary" view on a rangefinder — wide enough for context, tight enough for subjects — and this version is its current standard-bearer.
